"GAINESVILLE RIPPER" Movie / World Premiere Taking Place in Gainesville Florida

GAINESVILLE, Florida, Sunday Aug. 29th at 7:30 p.m., GATOR CINEMAS will host what could be the city's first ever feature-film world premiere. The feature horror film, THE GAINESVILLE RIPPER, is based on the true story of serial killer Danny Rolling who terrorized Gainesville in the 90s.

Four years were spent working on the independent production which was budgeted at under $200,000. This film was shot in Gainesville and Jacksonville, Florida.

Local Gainesville TV personality Zachary Memos was cast as Danny Rolling. "Zach did amazing brilliant work and was only concerned with playing the role truthfully, the art of acting, and doing a professional job,” according to Writer/Director Josh Townsend.

“THE GAINESVILLE RIPPER is a horror film that doesn't hesitate showing the violence Rolling inflicted, not only on his victims but the town as a whole,” says Townsend.

The premiere of The Gainesville Ripper hosted at the Gator Cinemas will be attended by the leading cast and Writer/Director Josh Townsend for a Q&A after the showing. Everyone 18 and up is encouraged to come out and support this local production.

I am a freelance writer on Yahoo!, and would love to interview you, those of you who were in Gainesville in 1990 when the murders happened. If you would like to be interviewed, please message me at aab874@gmail.com, and put Gainesville in the subject line. I am a true crime fanatic, and remember watching this case on TV two years after it happened. Thanks to the Internet many years later, I was able to find great info. on it. Again, if you are interested in being interviewed, please e-mail me at aab874@gmail.com. -Amanda A. Brooks

Also, I would love to see your film - do you have a copy of it on DVD that you could send me?
